A footprint of 12,000 square meters and 1,800 cabinets at full build makes DX3 the largest Equinix data center in the Middle East. Opened in late 2023 in Dubai Production City alongside the long-established DX1, the facility represents an investment of more than $100 million across two phases, with the $60 million first phase delivering capacity for 900 cabinets. Equinix designed the building for efficient power use, with newer-generation cooling and redundancy systems, and plans to cover it entirely with renewable energy. Its role is to add scale to the Dubai campus's interconnection ecosystem: customers gain access to the UAE-IX exchange community next door at DX1 and to Equinix Fabric for private connectivity to clouds and partners worldwide. The target base spans networks, cloud and content providers, financial services and enterprises adopting AI, giving them room to expand in a market where the original Dubai site had matured.
