Colt DCS secured committee approval from Hillingdon Council in late 2025 for a £2.5 billion expansion of its Hayes Digital Park campus in West London, adding three hyperscale data centres — London 6, 7 and 8 — with 97MW of new IT power that will take the campus to 160MW in total. The project is explicitly pitched at UK AI growth and hyperscale cloud demand. Construction is scheduled to start in mid-2026, high-voltage power delivery is expected in October 2027, and London 6 is targeted to be operational in early 2029. The sustainability plan commits to 100% renewable electricity via a power purchase agreement, caps backup generator running at 15 hours per year, and will feed waste heat into a district heating network for the surrounding community. Beyond the data halls, Colt DCS is partnering with Brunel University on an Innovation Hub offering incubator space for local digital start-ups, and the programme is expected to create over 500 permanent jobs plus a 50-apprentice training pipeline over ten years.
