An AUD 1 billion investment made S3 one of the largest single data centre commitments in NEXTDC's history: an 80 MW, Tier IV-standard facility in Artarmon on Sydney's lower north shore, less than 10 km from the CBD. The building offers more than 20,000 sqm of technical space with capacity for around 10,800 racks, engineered for high-density compute using hot-aisle containment with a ceiling plenum hot-return, Vertiv indirect free-cooling CRACs and modular cooling towers in an N+1 configuration, targeting a yearly average PUE of 1.2. Dual geodiverse data centre interconnects tie S3 into NEXTDC's S1 and S2 Sydney sites, creating a metro campus, while direct on-ramps reach AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, IBM Cloud and Oracle Cloud within an ecosystem of more than 750 partners. Governance matches the rest of NEXTDC's portfolio: ISO 9001, 14001, 27001 and 45001, SOC 1 and SOC 2 Type II, PCI DSS, DTA Strategic hosting provider status and Climate Active carbon-neutral certification for corporate operations.
