Few UK buildings carry as much internet history as Equinix LD8, the former Telecity Harbour Exchange site at 6-9 Harbour Exchange Square in London Docklands, folded into the Equinix IBX portfolio in 2016. It is among the most network-dense interconnection points in the country, long serving as a core node for carriers, ISPs and peering infrastructure serving the London market. The site comprises two connected buildings: HEX 6/7, a ten-storey structure with about 6,300 sqm of colocation space, and HEX 8/9 with a further 6,469 sqm over eight floors, giving roughly 12,700 sqm combined. Power is delivered through four separate 1,375kVA supplies (5,500kVA total incoming feed) backed by parallel-redundant N+1 UPS and diesel generation. As an Equinix IBX, LD8 plugs tenants into Equinix Fabric and the wider Docklands interconnection ecosystem alongside LD1-LD9. Its profile suits networks, content platforms and enterprises that prioritise peering density and ecosystem reach over the large power footprints found in newer out-of-town builds.
