Opened in 1990 as the first purpose-built colocation data centre in Europe, Telehouse North on Coriander Avenue in London Docklands is arguably the birthplace of the UK internet: it has hosted the London Internet Exchange (LINX) since 1994 and remains one of the most connected buildings in the country, with direct access to more than 100 carriers inside a carrier-neutral campus. The seven-storey building offers around 9,717 sqm of colocation space. Its vintage shows in the power profile — average rack draws of 1-3kW, fed by three diverse incoming supplies with four generators at N+1 — which positions it for network nodes, peering equipment and interconnection-led deployments rather than modern high-density compute. Cooling is a closed-loop N+1 system holding halls at 24C and 50% relative humidity. Published certifications include ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 27001 and PCI DSS. Telehouse's Interlink service ties North into the adjacent East, West and North Two buildings, letting tenants pair legacy interconnection presence with newer high-density capacity on the same campus.
