SYD1 in Western Sydney was AirTrunk's first campus and remains the template for its hyperscale playbook across Asia-Pacific: buy a large site, build modular data halls fast, and let anchor cloud tenants scale in step with demand. Since launching in late 2017 the campus has grown to more than 130 MW across 42 data halls on 7.4 hectares, with around 35,000 sqm of technical space plus 7,600 sqm of office and storage. A diverse 132 kV high-voltage feed supplies the site, which is designed to a PUE of 1.15, and AirTrunk backs availability with 100% SLAs. The campus is carrier neutral with multiple fibre entry paths into the building. Security is aligned to Australian government requirements: SYD1 is a Certified Strategic provider under the Hosting Certification Framework, with physical zones built to SCEC Zone 3 or higher. The customer profile is squarely hyperscale, cloud platforms and large technology companies rather than retail colocation, and the facility anchors AirTrunk's regional platform that now extends to Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia.
