Network density, not raw power, is the selling point of TYO2. The facility sits in Nihonbashi, immediately adjacent to Otemachi, the district where Japan's internet and carrier infrastructure historically concentrates, and ranks among the most carrier-dense neutral colocation sites in downtown Tokyo, with access to substantial dark fiber capacity and JPIX, Japan's largest internet exchange. Digital Edge acquired the building, formerly Arteria Networks' ComSpace I, in May 2021 as one of its first Japanese assets. It is a compact interconnection facility rather than a hyperscale plant: about 2,460 square meters of colocation space housing 729 cabinets provisioned at 1.8 kVA each, operating at an annual PUE of 1.5. The certification portfolio is broad for a facility of this size, spanning ISO 9001, 14001, 14064, 27001, 45001 and 50001 alongside SOC 2 Type II and PCI DSS. That profile suits carriers deploying points of presence, ISPs, content networks, and enterprises needing low-latency access to Tokyo's network core rather than large compute footprints.
