ePLDT built VITRO Santa Rosa as the Philippines' first hyperscale data center designed specifically for AI workloads, inaugurated in 2024 on a five-hectare campus in Santa Rosa, Laguna, roughly 30 kilometers from the airport. The site delivers 36 MW of IT load across 18 data halls of 2 MW each, with 12,140 square meters of white space and room for up to 4,500 racks at a baseline density of 8 kW per rack; ePLDT has stated capacity can scale toward 100 MW. Power comes from a dual utility feed with a dedicated 60 MW substation, 2N UPS per hall and N+1 generators with 72 hours of fuel, while a fully redundant water-cooled system with ten-minute thermal storage supports a design PUE of 1.4. The facility holds TIA-942 Rated 3 certification and is engineered Rated 4-ready, runs on at least 35 percent renewable energy from day one including an on-site solar farm, and offers at least three fiber entry points with direct routes to international cable landing stations. It also hosts ePLDT's GPU-as-a-Service platform for domestic AI compute.
