With room for more than 100,000 servers across 48,000 square meters, KT DX IDC Yongsan opened on 4 November 2020 as the largest internet data center in Seoul and the thirteenth in KT's nationwide fleet, today operated by KT Cloud alongside sites such as Mokdong IDC1 (2008) and IDC2 (2016). The building rises seven stories with six basement levels on Wonhyo-ro in Yongsan district, and its power design set domestic precedents: 154 kV receiving voltage — the highest among Seoul-area IDCs at opening — fed from dual substations, a first in Korea. Network capacity is terabit-class, with up to eight redundant paths linking five other KT metro data centers, and direct cloud connectivity to AWS, Google and domestic clouds through KT's HCX service. Free-cooling chillers, chilled-water systems and inverter air conditioners cut cooling electricity by more than 20% versus conventional designs. Pillar-free, seismically reinforced server halls and four layers of physical security complete a facility serving cloud providers, enterprises and KT Cloud's pay-as-you-go hyperscale AI computing platform.
