NEXTDC's planned Bangkok project marks the ASX-listed Australian operator's entry into Thailand, following its first international build in Malaysia. In late 2025 the Thailand Board of Investment approved a 13.76-billion-baht investment for the hyperscale facility as part of a wider wave of data-center project approvals aimed at positioning Thailand as a regional digital hub. The company has secured land in the Bangkok area, but the site remains at the planning stage: no IT capacity, floor area, delivery timeline, or design certifications have been published yet. Given NEXTDC's track record — its Australian portfolio is built around Uptime Institute Tier IV-certified designs and it markets its newest sites as AI-ready — the Bangkok campus is expected to target hyperscale cloud and AI-infrastructure tenants rather than small enterprise deployments, competing in a Thai market where operators such as STT GDC, NTT, and True IDC are already expanding. Until a design is announced, prospective customers should treat the project as a pipeline entry rather than bookable capacity.
