VNPT IDC Hoa Lac

State telecom group VNPT brought its eighth — and largest — internet data center online on 25 October 2023 at Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park, the technology zone west of central Hanoi. IDC Hoa Lac provides up to 23,000 sqm of usable floor space and capacity for about 2,000 racks, ranking among Vietnam's biggest facilities at launch. It carries Uptime Institute Tier III certification for both Design Documentation and Constructed Facility, with Operational Sustainability certification planned, and runs N+1 redundancy across critical systems so maintenance and repairs do not interrupt service. Major electromechanical equipment was sourced from G7-country vendors including Hitachi and Siemens. Connectivity rides VNPT's national backbone, with the operator citing an average of 2 Gbps per rack for domestic connections and 0.5 Gbps per rack internationally. Positioned as infrastructure for Vietnam's digital-government agenda as much as for commercial demand, the center serves ministries and state programs alongside enterprises, banks and cloud providers that want certified, in-country capacity delivered by the incumbent operator on its own fiber network.
