The facility occupies multiple floors of a nine-storey reinforced-concrete building totalling 181,716 sq ft, of which 109,209 sq ft is raised-floor colocation space, with access to 13.5 MW of power. Its significance is less about scale than about gravity: SG1 hosts Equinix's Asia-Pacific Network Operations Centre and provides internet exchange access including one of the world's three GRX peering points for mobile roaming traffic, making it a long-standing anchor for carriers and mobile operators across the region. Dark fibre ties it to SG3 nearby, forming the one-north campus within Equinix's five-facility Singapore platform, whose electricity consumption the company covers with 100% renewable energy. The building holds Singapore's SS 564 green data center accreditation and a BCA-IMDA Green Mark rating, with efficiency measures such as granular temperature monitoring and optimised lighting control. SG1 suits networks, financial ecosystems, and enterprises that value interconnection density over expansive footprints.
