Iron Mountain AMS-1

Iron Mountain's AMS-1 sits on a 23-acre secure campus at J.W. Lucasweg 35 in Haarlem, about 20 km west of Amsterdam and 17 km from Schiphol — far enough from the constrained city grid to keep expanding, close enough to stay on the metro's fiber routes. The single-story facility currently offers 17,000 sqm across seven data halls with 13.1 MW of capacity; full build-out targets 30,000 sqm and 43.1 MW, with the next 10 MW phase expected by 2027. It was the first data center in the Netherlands powered entirely by renewables, matched 100% through dedicated solar and tidal contracts with 24/7 carbon-free energy tracking. Design follows Tier III principles with 2N/N+1 power and N+1 cooling, hot/cold aisle containment and cabinets up to 52U for higher-density configurations. More than 60 carriers are available on site, alongside access to AMS-IX, NL-ix and NDIX. Certifications include ISO 27001, 50001, 14001, 22301 and 9001, SOC 2 Type II, SOC 3, PCI-DSS and BREEAM. The profile suits hyperscale cloud and enterprises needing room to grow.
