Nine buildings across a 30-acre estate make the Cyberjaya campus the volume play in EdgeConneX's Malaysian expansion, and by capacity its largest commitment in the country. The operator quotes 67 MW of current capacity scaling beyond 200 MW at full build, backed by a 275 kV substation and around 200,000 sqm of space in Malaysia's established data-center hub southwest of Kuala Lumpur. Construction began in January 2024, with EdgeConneX targeting a fully functional campus within 20 to 24 months of the start. Engineering follows the company's standard Malaysian template: concurrently maintainable power in at least an N+1 configuration, N+1 chilled-water cooling with separate fan-wall and CRAH units, support for cabinet densities up to 20 kW, and carrier-neutral connectivity through diverse fibre conduits and multiple meet-me rooms. Security layering includes mantraps, multi-stage containment, interior security zones, and on-site NOC services, with SOC 2 Type 2, PCI DSS, and ISO 27001 as the stated compliance targets. The multi-building format is pitched at customers with staged, large-scale requirements — from cloud regions to enterprise consolidations — while sustainability work with TNB covers renewable energy supply.
