GDS Nusajaya Tech Park Data Center Campus

GDS picked Nusajaya Tech Park in Iskandar Puteri, Johor, for its first data centre outside China, and the campus opened formally on 10 August 2023. Phase one comprises the NTP1-3 buildings with a combined net floor area of about 22,500 sqm; company plans describe roughly 54 MW of IT power for the campus at full build. The first building was delivered in around 14 months using GDS's prefabricated Smart DC construction approach, which the operator credits for both speed and energy efficiency, and the overall investment was reported at more than RM1 billion. Location is the campus's core argument: it sits minutes from the Second Link crossing to Singapore, letting hyperscalers and large enterprises land capacity that is constrained or costly on the island while keeping latency to Singapore low. Green design features and low-carbon operation are baked into the campus concept. It anchors GDS International's (now DayOne) Johor-Singapore-Batam platform strategy.
