LG U+ built the Pyeongchon Mega Center around a modular formula: 24 computer rooms of 1,157 square meters each, accommodating up to 450 racks per module, delivered in phases across two data center wings plus a separate office building. Opened in July 2015 in Anyang's Pyeongchon Smart Square, within commuting range of Gangnam and Pangyo, the campus totals 85,548 square meters gross with 27,770 square meters of white space, which the operator has billed as Asia's largest contiguous white space. Utility capacity is 165 MW at 154 kV with active/active incoming feeds, and racks draw an average of 10 kW with support from 6 to 20 kW — high density for its generation. It was the first Korean IDC to earn Uptime Institute Tier III certification and also holds ISO 27001, ISO 9001 and ISO 20000. A patented free-cooling design with air-side economizers operates more than seven months a year, contributing to a PUE of 1.4. The center serves finance, cloud and enterprise customers needing large contiguous footprints near Seoul.
